Ask the Creator is back with another juicy interview! Today we meet with fashion, beauty & travel blogger and Creator Melissa Gitt, aka Alwaysmeliss. Melissa started her blog as a hobby, but her commitment and authenticity helped her grow rapidly. Her mission is to always be true and honest when it comes to creating content for her followers. Read more of this short but sweet interview and let her realness inspire you!
Hi Melissa, can you tell us how did how you became a Creator and how has that changed your life?
I was looking for a hobby, to be totally honest, and decided I was going to start a blog. I started posting every single day twice a day on Instagram and between 2-3 times weekly on AlwaysMeliss.com, and grew rather quickly.
It’s the best decision I ever made! By starting Always Meliss, I was able to quit my corporate job, travel, and work for myself. I’ve never been happier!
What’s your favourite part about being a Creator?
I love being my own boss, creating my own brand, and having a vision that comes to life. This is my dream job! I hope I can do this for years to come.
Do you believe anyone can be a Creator?
I believe anyone who has the will to succeed and the skill to get there can be a creator. Most of success comes from drive. You have to work 7 days a week, mornings and nights, and be prepared for good and bad feedback.

Where do you take your inspiration from?
Honestly most of my ideas come from inside. I get a vision every time I shoot content and if my photos or work don’t match that, I start over.
What was the toughest stage in settling on your particular style and building a follower base?
I actually don’t think I settled on a “particular style.” What you see on my blog and Instagram are sincerely me. I only show clothes to my followers that I would actually wear! Sometimes they buy everything I have on, and other times nothing, but to be honest in building my brand, I’ll always be me. I believe my followers sense that and that’s how I’ve grown rather quickly.
How do you choose which campaigns to take and not take?
I only work with brands that I would buy their products or think they can be of great use to my followers and me. If I’m not crazy about their products, I turn it down no matter what.

Nothing like an early morning tornado warning followed by sunshine and blue skies!! Learning that Austin has crazy weather – but seriously how gorgeous is this hotel?? @fairmontatx 🤣 Heading out to get some juice and do some shopping with the girls!! Follow along in stories. 🌴 Linking the cutest 2 piece set and leopard heels! They’re SO comfy and under $100. Side note- if I was a bride again this would be my set for my shower. Obsessed!! http://liketk.it/2B8o3
How do you prefer to work with brands and what are the best & worst experiences you’ve had working with a brand?
I love working with brands long term! By agreeing on a 3 to 6 month initial contract, we can truly test what my audience resonates with for a new brand. It’s rare to introduce a new brand and have my audience buy stuff in bulk quantities to start. However, once they’ve seen the brand several times, they trust in the products more and shop more frequently. Those are always the best experiences!
The only bad experiences are when I do not get feedback. I love to learn what a brand liked or didn’t when we work together.
